Big Freedia To Open New Orleans Nightclub And Hotel

Bounce music icon Big Freedia is planning to open a hotel in her hometown of New Orleans, the singer recently confirmed. While it’s not really a New Orleans hotel, the Freedia Hotel will consist of about five rooms and serve as a nightclub and entertainment space that serves food and drink.

Big Freedia has her eyes set on an opening around 2024 just in time for Mardi Gras.

Construction workers are set to break ground on the project this spring, according to Nola.com.

“This dream of mine has been in the works for a long time, I’ll be one of the first black hotel owners in New Orleans,” Freedia posted on social media. “Will keep y’all posted on the official opening date, can’t wait to see y’all at Hotel Freedia.”

Where Will Big Freedia’s Hotel Be Located?

Details are still being worked out, but it looks like Freedia’s hotel will be located on Decatur and Frenchmen streets in the city’s Faubourg Marigny neighborhood.

If you plan on visiting the city for New Orleans, you should know that the area you’re staying in is safe.
