In a first for the carrier, Southwest Airlines says it is getting rid of 1,750 leadership positions in a historic move to reduce expenses.
The reductions, affecting 15% of corporate roles—including senior leadership and directors—will begin in late April and are expected to be largely completed by the end of June, the airline announced Sunday.
